Welcome to Your True Poet!!!

Have you ever wanted to express yourself to someone special with a poem or a greeting card, and nothing came to mind, or the greetings cards you found were too generic to express what was on your mind or in your heart?

Your True Poet would like to assist you in creating poems or greeting cards for that special occasion the receiver will cherish forever. All you have to do is submit some information about that special someone, what you would like to express, and any ideas you have, and we will draft up a poem for your acceptance. We will work with you to have the poem fit to not only to your liking, but to the occasion.

With the greeting cards, we can use several illustrations or even photos you submit for the greeting card, along with a poem we create or a poem you submit as well.

The styles of poetry are flexible, whether you desire rhymes, cadence, short, long, haiku, or a unique style created just for you, let Your True Poet artistically develop your thoughts and emotions into a customized form.

Christopher Robinson – President and CEO of   Your True Poet Enterprises

How my Business “Your True Poet Enterprises” was started:

During University of Alabama’s Information & Engineering Management’s (IEM – http://www.uab.edu/iem) EGR 652 – Technology Ventures Course, the task to start a business began with my passion and gift for writing poetry. My business is to create personalized poetry and greeting cards for various occasions.

I paid an old college friend from Syracuse University to create a Logo and Business Card. After I had my logo, I paid a friend of a friend to create my website http://www.yourtruepoet.com on BlueHost.com.

My business was officially launched on October 11, 2012 after registering my business with the Secretary of State of Alabama. After opening up a business checking and savings account, I was able to get a business credit card. Soon after this, I created a Pay Pal Account for my business and linked it to the Business Website. Initially, I passed a few business cards around, and made some birthday cards for family, friends, and a fellow IEM Client. After “word of mouth” and advertising on my personal Facebook Page, I’ve filled several orders from my business, and have several upcoming orders to complete.

During IEM’s 655 IEM Design Project Course, I also created a Business Facebook page, located at:  https://www.facebook.com/pages/Your-True-Poet-Enterprises/194477987361528?fref=ts , a Pinterest account, a Twitter account #IEM13CHRIS, and a youtube video entitled “My Story” at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJe6opEAk40

My next steps are to engage more into advertising and marketing my business, and to incorporate children’s poems, cards, and stories as well. This is just a start for me, and thanks to the IEM program, it challenged me to stop procrastinating, create something, and to take a plunge into my passion.
